Micro Duct is made from high-density polyethylene. The inner surface of the micro duct has qualities that make installing fiber optical cables significantly easier – longitudinal grooves and selected silicon-based materials do minimize the frictional resistance between the inner surface of the pipe and the outer surface of the optical fiber cable. These qualities are retained throughout the useful life of the product. This enables fiber optical cables to be installed using the blowing method where great lengths of cable – ranging from 1000-2000 meters or more – can be laid in one go. Single Höhle micro ducts range in diameter from 5-16 mm and come in different wall thicknesses depending on their area of use (DB or DI). Wall thickness can also be tailored according to the customer needs. Micro ducts come in many colors and are available as single-color items or in natural white with colored stripes. They are packaged on drums. Micro ducts meet the requirements of the EN 50411-6-1, EN 60794 and IEC 60794 standards.
